The abuse and assaults I endured have never left me in all the years since they were committed. The life and career I should have had was over once I managed to escape that pathetic excuse for a man but the effect it had on me has lasted ever since. What happened to me was perpetrated not just by Mohamed Al-fayed but also others around him. Men who I was lured into meeting and then drugged by. Whilst it is they that committed the abuse, it is Harrods and Harrods staff who knew and did nothing. But worse than doing nothing was that they covered it up and instead of working to help me they worked hard to silence me. That there are senior staff still in post at Harrods right now under whose watch many other women were raped and yet they have not at least done the one smallest decent thing they could possibly do and resign is as disgusting as it is unsurprining. That one of them is also the Managing Director who walked those floors with Al-fayed every day and met with him every evening over tea and biscuits is shameful.
