I joined Harrods in 1990 as Personal Assistant to the In-house Company Solicitor. I met Mohamed Fayed when he interviewed me for this role. I saw him regularly when he was walking around with his bodyguard. At his request I also translated some documents from English to French. He repeatedly asked me to accompany him to his house in St Tropez. I always refused to go there as I was conscious of the abuse I would be subjected to.

In 1993 I was unfairly dismissed from Harrods when Mohamed Fayed forbade me to go to the In-house Company Solicitor’s wedding. I didn’t obey him and went to the wedding where some of his bodyguards were surveying the area where the wedding was taking place.

I feel very privileged to have an extremely good friend who is one of the survivors. I know how terrified she has been of Mohamed Fayed over the years. I am so proud of her as she now stands strong and brave along with all these other women who have been suffering in the hands of this monster and his acolytes. I specifically use the word “acolytes” as so far as I am concerned all the people who have helped him abuse these women are as guilty as he is and should also be held accountable for their despicable actions.
